All is well with Luffy. :)
Luffy is my everdearest, 4 year old laptop. She was given to me by my parents and as my mom would put it, she is the product of their first months of hardwork in the US. Compared to the new laptops that have come out recently, my dear Luffy would certainly look ancient. She's heavy and she doesn't have a camera, mic and memory card slots, among other things. But I love this baby so much. She has brought a lot of joy, not only to me but also to my family and friends. She's been with me through a lot of case studies, papers, researches and projects. She stayed up all night, singing songs, when I'm alone in my dorm room and it feels a little creepy. There was a time when there were a lot of games installed in her, she's almost like an arcade. My family and my friends got a kick out of that. When I went to the US for vacation, she stayed with my nephew and God knows what she's been through.
My baby has been through a lot, indeed. She has undergone reformating countless of times, I'm amazed she's still working pretty well. But her recent injuries were physical instead of the usual virus-induced malfunctions. One day, I got home from work and she won't wake up. I knew that the problem was somewhere around the power source. I was a little busy so it was my sister who had her checked after a couple of months. (Yeah, I know. I feel guilty not taking care of her at that time.) It was confirmed that the problem was the power source/charger. We were advised to get her a new one. But when we looked for it, there wasn't one who matches her. Maybe because she's already old. I felt sad. I don't wanna give up on her 'cos no matter how old she is, she still means a lot to me. But there's also the reality that a day will come that she's gonna give up.
However, last night, after months of being in a comatose phase, she is back!!! Thanks to my amazing brother who fixed the damaged wiring on her charger and for putting back the missing screw in her screen. Luffy is really a tough laptop! Woohoo! She's working a little bit slower than before. And she's heating up quite fast now. But she's still doing her job. I still have plans of getting a new laptop soon. (I wish.) But no matter how many new laptops will come my way, Luffy would always be the best for me. :)
Let me see you work it, baby!
